Reality TV causes REAL problems

Weight loss is a tricky thing and with all those "weight-loss" shows on tv like Biggest Loser and X-Weighted etc...you start to wonder...'how do they do it?'

I'll say it once and I'll say it again...it's not taking off the weight that's hard, it's keeping it off. I decided to look into the winners of the TV show Biggest Loser and see where they are now.

Turns out, according to an article in TIME magazine, that the first season winner, 38 year old Ryan Benson, lost 122lbs in January 2005 but by May 2007, he had regained 90lbs - 35 of which he says he gained back in one day just by drinking water. The article also says that other contestants starved themselves during the competition and spent time in sauna's to drain water from their system.

Actually, the only person who managed to maintain and even lose more weight after the show is Kelly Minner, who lost 242lbs during the show and another 20lbs afterwards. But guess how she managed that? She told TIME magazine that she exercises one to four hours a day! Who does that?! ...i wonder where she finds the time???
